I should particularly like to hear, in confidence if preferred, about Turkish baths which were frequented by gay or lesbian bathers. There is a void in the databank at present as, unfortunately, I have been unable to find any British parallels to George Chauncey's book Gay New York: the making of the gay male world, 1890-1940 which has an excellent chapter (no.8) on 'The social world of the baths'.
