Label in the collection of the Victorian Turkish Bath Project

 

A label from the top of a cardboard box holding bars of Divan Turkish Bath Soap manufactured in Australia by Lever Brothers Limited, Sydney, New South Wales. The label, here shown slightly trimmed, measures 112x280 mm.

The blue seal at the top, measuring about 2.4 mm in diameter, has the words PURE LEVER BRAND in the centre.The outer text reads: No 57 GUARANTEED UNDER / THE PURE FOOD ACT 1908 / BY UNILEVER BROTHERS LIMITED / SYDNEY, N.S.W. No 57. The text at the bottom reads MADE IN AUSTRALIA.
