Victorian Turkish Baths Picture of the Month for April 2011

San Francisco Turkish Bath: 229 Ellis Street:
glass ashtray

Ashtray

This image is self-explanatory. The ashtray, undoubtedly one of many which disappeared from the baths over a period of time, probably dates from the 1940s or 1950s. But does anyone know anything about the Turkish baths themselves?

Any information gratefully received. Please drop us a line.
