Dr Richard Barter

Dr Richard Barter was the founder and proprietor of St Ann's Hydropathic Establishment, the second in Ireland, located near Blarney in Co. Cork. He was the builder (with David Urquhart, in 1856) of the first attempt at a 'Turkish' bath in the British Isles since the time of the Roman occupation.
