< Jones' first visit to a Turkish bath. — London : the baths, c.1889

Page from a booklet of black & white cartoons with captions relating to the various stages of the bath. It was distributed at both the Grosvenor and the Wool Exchange Baths during 1889 when Benjamin Bell owned both establishments and had already sold the one at Railway Approach, London Bridge.

This is reproduced from the copy of the booklet in Amaret Tanner's collection (which is slightly earlier than that in the Johnson Collection at the Bodleian Library). It was produced by 'Davies & Davies, Designers & Printers of Unique Advertisement, 71 & 73 St Mary Axe, London E.C.'
