A new enlarged edition of Pascal Meunier's Hammams

Front cover of Hammams

From Fez to Samarkand, from Tunis to Istanbul, Pascal Meunier's beautiful photographs take us on a tour inside Islamic hammams, penetrating their intimacies, portraying the ancient art of the shampooer, or bathers lost in the depths of meditation.

Meunier spent seven years roaming the Arabic-Muslim world and has been published in Le Monde 2, L'Espresso, El Pais, El Mundo, and Newsweek.

Published in October 2005 by Dakota Editions, with introduction and captions in French, its 160 pages are an absolute joy.
