London: Jermyn Street (76): The Hammam: brochure

Hammam brochure, post-1908
< Image: Devra Wiseman; source: Wiltshire and Swindon Archives WSA 1915/220

The cover of a 16 page brochure advertising the services of The Hammam at 76 Jermyn Street. This particular copy was printed some time between 1929 and 1941 while Frank E Fells was the Manager. However, it seems to have been originally published soon after the baths 1908 expansion took place. It includes two photographs not found elsewhere, the inside of the cooling-room and the new shampooing room.

Amongst other items included are a brief history of the baths, with each room's temperature, the facilities and charges, and six Hints for bathers, largely unchanged from those displayed in David Urquhart's Riverside baths at Rickmansworth in 1858.
