Glasgow's Cockburn Turkish Baths:
Royalty Theatre programme advertisement

Royalty Theatre programme

This advertisement for the baths was printed round all four edges of a Glasgow Royalty Theatre programme produced for the performance of Niobe which took place on 14 November 1892.

When the play reached the Criterion Theatre in London the following year, a reviewer in the Sydney Morning Herald wrote, 'Seldom have we seen an audience so demonstrative in its laughter as that of Saturday night. The play in every way justified its reputation elsewhere for popularity.'

This programme is from the collection of the Victorian Turkish Baths Project
