Sir James Crichton-Browne

A leading psychiatrist, Crichton-Browne (1840-1938) was known for his studies on the relationship between mental illness and brain injury. He was especially concerned with public health policies relating to mental health, and collaborated with Charles Darwin.
During his time as Physician-Superintendent at Wakefield he wrote a series of influential medical reports based on the work there.
