The electro-Turkish bath

This is an extremely misleading term, though it was often used by bath proprietors. In fact, there was no such thing as an electro-Turkish bath. But the term was sometimes used to indicate that a Turkish baths establishment also offered electric baths (sometimes called galvanic baths) as one of their facilities, just as they might offer hairdressing, chiropody, or steam baths.
